Villa Libellule
Inspired by our Bali success, we have expanded in one more place outside of Denmark. Villa Libellule in Menton in the south of France close to the Italian border, is the perfect retreat for small groups wishing to work or relax (or both) in the most perfect surroundings.
Villa Libellule was built in the 1920´s, in the beautiful Belle Epoque style, which was predominant for architecture during this period, with lovely stucco-ornamented ceilings, high wall panelling, oak parquet floors, ornate fireplace and wide glass insert doors with the original faceted glass.
Villa Libellule has 11 beds distributed on 6 bedrooms – it is also possible to rearrange one of the living rooms into an extra bedroom. Max. number of persons at one time is 12. Villa Libellule is also equipped with a jacuzzi, kitchen with small dining area in the classic rural Provence style, and two living rooms. The house is furnished in our trademark Guldsmeden style, with four-poster beds, large lounge sofas, everything in state-of-art-HiFi and IT, and original works of art collected on our trips to Bali. All rooms have their own distinctive character.
Furthermore, air-conditioning as well as a comprehensive alarm and loudspeaker system has been installed throughout the property.
In the garden, amongst lemon and orange trees and the flowering multi-color bougainvillea, you will find an outdoor spa and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen.
Breakfast is optional, and light cleaning is included in the rate. There is no need for an in-house restaurant, as there are many good places to go in Menton – and guests can also choose to go to Monaco, only 10 minutes drive away.
Villa Libellule is a true gem, centrally located in the centre of the old part of Menton, only 2 minutes´ walk from the beach, the promenade and the pedestrian street.

Working in Villa Libellule
If you wish to hold meetings in the villa, several options are available.
The portable projector connects to your laptop, and presentations shown on the high-ceilinged walls or the portable screen – alternatively, you can connect your computer to the 52-inch surround-sound flat screen in the living room. This screen is visible also from the dining room, which comfortably sits 10 persons. Wireless internet is installed throughout the property.
Furthermore, there are 2 fully equipped work stations with computer, flat screens and printer.
Prices for renting Villa Libellule vary according to peak season - please contact booking@hotelguldsmeden.com for inquiries and availability. Please note that the villa must be rented for a minimum of one week.
Menton - My city is a garden
The slogan for the city of Menton was not chosen at random! With an exceptionally mild climate and 316 days of sunshine a year, the city is a paradise of exotic flowers and plants in the seven exceptional public gardens that flourish and grow at ease in Menton. Menton is situated on the sparkling Côte d´Azur, close to the Italian border, and combines the best of Italian and French cuisine, culture and ambience. The array of possible activities is wide and varied – bathing in the Mediterranean sea, hiking in the Mercantour National Parc, shopping in Monaco and San Remo, enjoying the local sights and markets, dining in the excellent local restaurants, skiing in Limone or Isola 2000 – nothing is impossible, and nothing too far away. Bring a swim suit, skiing gear, hiking boots and a tuxedo and you can´t go wrong!
